I'm in the Blogger World

Thanks to Siobhan and Daimhin, I am now a blogger. I'm not sure that I have anything to report that isn't in Doug or Scott's blog, but I'll try to keep you posted on my activities.

I am ready for the big day, so bring it on. I have a neighbour who has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. I was pretty shocked when he told me and it brought a lot of memories rushing back. His wife doesn't drive so I have offered to take him to and from the hospital for his procedures. Not only is there a tumor on the top of the stomach but 2 lymph nodes in the esophagus are infected plus a dreaded tumor behind the pancreas. He can't eat so they are putting a stint in to clear a path for the food. The doctors have said 2 months to 2 years depending on how the chemo reacts. It is not good, but his attitude to great.

I have joined a 'bitch and stitch' group associated with Newcomers and tomorrow I'm off to lunch with the group. I guess we'll just be bitching tomorrow.

Hope all is well with all of you in cyberspace, until next time.

Welcome to the 'blogisphere!

Bummer about your neighbor. You'll be able to provide some pretty good support, if you're up for it. Make sure you're ready, tho.

Now you're going to have to start carrying a camera every where you go so you can post up some snaps of your life.

Welcome to blogger world. I can relate to your cancer story. Paul and I are the best of friends with 3 other couples and at this time, 3 out of 8 of us have been diagnosed with some form of Cancer. Our friend Cathy has a "rare and aggressive" breast cancer, our friend Mark has Hodgkins Lymphoma and of course Paul with his CML...leaves the rest of us looking over our shoulders. Our job as support providers is much easier than their job as the fighters. On a happier note, glad to hear that you're ready for the big day, can't wait to see the smiles on the faces of our kids and the little ones:) Have a great Christmas...wish you were here!

Mama C, you'll be a great shoulder to lean on. But ditto on what Doug said. Could bring back some stuff, so be kind to you too.

Good going, Marilyn!

Blog away, and the cancer thing seems to be hitting all over the place. Maybe some of the grand kids will be part of the team that comes up with a cure.
